The Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair is one of a kind. For 37 years its been put on by neighbors for neighbors. Run entirely by community volunteers, the fair is not sponsored by a civic or commercial organization. What it is, though, is fun for the whole family.
Like a city-sized field day, the fair features free games like sack races, water balloon toss, and a hula hoop contest. More importantly, it features plenty of great food and drink!
The usual festival fare will be available — corn dogs, cotton candy, and kettle korn — along with fish tacos and tri-tip. Also on tap are a beer garden and a wine garden. Sadly the two are in separate areas! Oh, all food booths will be staffed by non-profit organizations only. You can eat and drink for a cause!
The Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair takes place on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th from 10 Am to 5 PM both days. The fair is located near downtown Manhattan Beach on Valley Drive between 15th Street and Blanche Drive at the Joslyn Center.
