Football season is underway and the world seems right again. Along with flea flickers and pig skins, the fall weekend brings lobster, beer, and…more beer! Let’s get to it.

Port of Los Angeles Lobster Fest, San Pedro

The “biggest lobster festival in the world” is set to once again take over the Ports O’ Call Village of San Pedro with concerts, pirates, and the namesake crustaceans. To keep the parents and kids happy, there are activities for everyone and the prices are reasonable.

Kids 12 and under get in free. Adult admission is set at $9 but you can save a couple bucks with this handy $2 off coupon. Also, there’s no need to buy your lobster plates before you get there. Purchase them onsite for just $18…or not. Either way be sure to check out the pirates and the bands!

Kinderfest and Weiner Dog Racing, Huntington Beach

Grown ups get Oktobefest. Its only fair that the kids get to swill some beer soda and sing oompa songs, right? Check out Kinderfest at Old World village in Huntington Beach this Sunday. Its like Oktoberfest for kids, complete with Weiner Dog racing.

Kids under 5 get in free, kids 6-12 are $2 and adults are $5. This event runs on Sundays through September and October from 2 – 7:30 PM.

“Crash” Blogger Prom, Hollywood

Blogger Prom is quickly approaching and bloggers all over LA are buzzing about this fabulous shindig. Not only are we excited that we get to rub elbows with some big name influencers, we also get some serious serious eats, drinks, and swag! Of course, all of the partying and carrying on is for a great cause: Operation Frontline Los Angeles.

If you’re not a blogger you can still get a chance to attend by “crashing” the party!

Yamashiro, the historic Hollywood venue hosting this year’s event, is giving away passes to a radomly selected Facebook fan that “likes” their page and leaves a comment. All you have to do is give a few clicks and you could be Hollywood Confidential with the best of ’em! This opportunity ends on Friday, September 17 so don’t wait!

If you want to help out the fundrasising efforts, you can also donate — without crashing — by making a donation on this page hosted by Goldstar Events. Use the “donation only” field to submit a donation. Thanks in advance!

  1. Thanks for the BloggerProm shoutout, Michael. But just to clarify, while the BloggerProm committee appreciates all extra donations to Operation Frontline LA, the only official crash passes is through Yamashiro Facebook contest.

But thanks for getting the word out about this very worthwhile cause and see you at the prom in less than a week 🙂
