It’s never too early to start making plans for the weekend, especially when it involves lobster!  This Friday, Redondo Beach kicks off their 15th annual Lobster Festival.

Following Long Beach and LA (San Pedro, really), the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival brings up the rear in a three-week-long line of of crustacean celebrations.  It may be last, but its certainly not least!

A plate from the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival with butter, potatoes, cole slaw, bread and the main dish!

This year they’ve stepped up the food offerings with Surf ‘n’ Turf specials featuring certified Angus beef.  Not a fan of lobster but still want to hang out? Get the Certified Angus Steak Dinner Package ($30) which includes admission, a t-shirt, and a 12 oz steak.

Of course, there’s lobster for everyone else.  The best deals can be found online and include admission, a souvenir t-shirt, and a big plate of lobster with sides.  There’s even a special with steak AND lobster for just a few bucks more than the steak alone ($35).

There’s still  no excuse to skip this event if you don’t want steak or lobster.  A host of vendors will be on hand with other treats including fish and chips, smoothies, and funnel cakes.

Along with all of the options for your dining pleasure, entertainment is included as well.  Check the entertainment schedule and you’ll find everything from classic rock to steel drums.  The kids can stay busy with bounce houses and arcade games.  For the daring, a mechanical bull will be available!

To make your Lobster Festival experience more enjoyable, get your tickets online and go early!  The online tickets include a discount and getting their sooner rather than later can help minimize wait times in long lines.  If you’re right here in the South Bay, consider going on Friday — Locals Night — for half off admission, free bull rides (yikes!), and free souvenir glasses (first 500 drinks served).
