Michael says: I feel like less of a foodie for missing BOTH weeks of LA’s Restaurant Week AND the one week of OC’s Restaurant Week. I heard there were many tasty dishes to be found in each event.
Fortunately, my girlfriend Nicole — the head honcho over at Skinny People Do — made it out to Irvine for a bite to eat during OC Restaurant Week.
Here’s her review of 6ix Park Grill. Enjoy!
While visiting suppliers in Orange County (OC) for work, I had the opportunity to take advantage of OC Restaurant Week.
After looking through the restaurants on the event website, I decided on dining at 6ix Park Grill, one of the restaurants offering lunch for $10. 6ix Park Grill is located on the 1st floor of the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
Upon arrival we were seated immediately at a two top table along a wooden divider in the middle of the restaurant. To my surprise we were given the regular lunch menu by the hostess; I had to request the Restaurant Week menu from our waitress once she came to take our drink order.
Though there were only a handful of choices on the menu, the selection were so diverse and described so well, I had a hard time deciding on what to order.
In the end I choose the salmon club sandwich: grilled salmon on toasted sourdough, crisp lettuce, avocado, tomato, bacon, with a lemon dill aioli. My companion chose the carne asada tacos, served with black beans, Spanish rice, and avocado relish.
The food was great and filling. As an added bonus, all entrees on the Restaurant Week lunch menu included a beverage! Sweet! For just $10, the meal was a great deal.
