Food truck forces from all over LA have combined their powers to spread holiday cheer along with ketchup, BBQ sauce, and other condiments.
This Saturday, December 11, from 11 AM until 6 PM, Truck N’ Toys presents 19 food trucks to hundreds of food truck gourmets while asking them to donate toys.
Among the trucks present will be several South Bay favorites including Tropical Shave Ice, Lomo Arigato, and Nana Queens.
Headlining the fleet of kitchens-on-wheels is Vizzi Truck (@VizziTruck), serving “coastal infused cuisine for all your senses”. Their menu includes savory snacks like White Truffle Popcorn; standards like salads and grilled cheese sandwiches; and veggie focused entrees like organic chickpea sliders.
Danielle Struwe, Vizzi Truck coordinator, pulled this event together to do something positive for the community during the holiday season. Unable to find a charitable holiday event for her truck to participate in, she put one together herself. With the help of The Truck Chaser, The City of San Pedro, and other food trucks, supporters quickly rallied behind the cause.
Catching the interest of hip-hop mogul Master P. and his daughter Cymphonique, the event has even secured celebrity hosts! The duo will be at the event representing Urban Born, Master P.’s charitable organization that works “to keep our youth off the streets and out of gangs and in school, while providing them with positive life and career skills”.
While Truck n’s Toys appears to be promoted as a toy drive, its not clear from their website how attendees can participate. However, several tweets using the #TruckNToys hash tag ask hungry participants to “bring unwrapped toys to benefit kids.”
For more information, visit the Truck N’ Toys website and follow the discussion thread on Twitter. Oh, and be sure to stop by on Saturday!
