Its back! LA Restaurant Week returns for another two week run (eh!) on January 23. This event offers fixed price menus for lunch and dinner at restaurants around Los Angeles County.
Yesterday, the list of participating restaurants was announced by dineLA, the arm of the Los Angeles Convention and Visitor’s Bureau that manages LA’s Restaurant Week.
There’s a Map for That
With almost 300 restaurants to choose from, finding the right place to eat can be difficult. To help you out, we’ve put together a handy map of all the locations.
Follow this link or click the image below to go to the map. It has some great features to help you find the best place to eat.
(Sidebar: I wish I could put this app on your mobile phone but it works so much better on your PC. Maybe next time!)
South Bay, Party of 10
Examining the list or participants through our South Bay lens, it looks like we’ll have a decent sampling of local places to choose from with 10 spots right here in our neighborhood. Other options are not too far away in Venice/Marina Del Rey (14) and Long Beach (5).
Similar to previous Restaurant Weeks, the majority of the participating locations are in Los Angeles (112), Santa Monica (43), and Beverly Hills/Hollywood/West Hollywood (43).
What’s on the Menu?
With LA’s outrageously varied ethnic make up to its credit, Restaurant Week will give diners almost 40 different cuisines to choose from. Good ol’ American cuisine leads the pack with 40 options followed by Italian (35) and Californian (30). Nondescript – but interesting — entries include Contemporary (21) and “Eclectic” (2).
While many of the restaurants have their menus on display on dineLA’s website the majority are still figuring out what to cook. Just one day after announcing the participants, 132 of the 296 have yet to reveal their menu. Oh, the anticipation!

Thanks for doing this again Michael…it sure does help when planning my dining experience! I was hoping that Ortolan would be on the list again but alas, it was not. Maybe next time…
I love making the map! Its the best mash-up ever: data, technology, and fine dining. w00t! 😀
