Last night the top contestants in Yogurtland’s Flavorology competition gathered at the chain’s Manhattan Beach location to find out whose yogurt recipe would reign supreme.
The stakes were high; along with bragging rights for designing an award winning creation with yogurt and toppings, the winner would walk away with a $250 gift card to Yogurtland, and 10 additional $10 Yogurtland gift cards to share.
The 12 finalists — three from each of the four South Bay Yogurtland locations — were chosen from more than 2500 entries.
The dozen entries were put to the test by judges Aimee Mizrahi, the owner of Aimee‘s Bistro located in Redondo Beach, and Chef Anne Conness of Tin Roof Bistro located in Manhattan Beach.

While the judges guaged each entry on flavor, appearance, and other qualities, the VIPs in attendance sampled some of Yogurtland’s new flavors.
Among the entries, many were Hawaiian themed dishes with varying combinations of mango, toasted coconut, and guava-pineapple yogurts.
A winner was chosen for each store with Judges Choice going to the highest score overall.
The winning dish, called “Da Flyin’ Hawaiian”, challenged the judges to defy gravity with an overloaded cup of four different yogurt flavors, five toppings, and condensed milk.
Headquartered in Anaheim, Yogurtland has four South Bay locations. Find them in Manhattan Beach, Village Del Amo (Torrance), Riviera Place (Redondo), and Torrance Crossroads.
