October is a great month for Southern California foodies. From LA to OC, every week has an event dedicated to food, wine, or beer. And then to top it off, the month ends with everyone high on sugar and decked out in costumes for Halloween. Yes, life is good.

Here’s are a few events we’ll be checking out this weekend. See you there!

2nd Annual Taste of the Pier, Redondo Beach

This two day event gives you a chance to sample a little bit of everything the Redondo Beach Pier has to offer. Its free to stroll the pier and just $1 per tasting ticket. During last year’s inaugural event, items were one or two tickets for a sample. Money aside, this is also an opportunity to eat for a cause; proceeds from the event benefit the Cancer Support Community and the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation. Eat up!

Restaurant Week in LA, Beer Week in OC

Fixed price menus are all the rage in October. Both Los Angeles and Orange counties go all out with Restaurant Weeks and a Wine-Beer Weeks respectively.

For dineLA’s Restaurant Week, we’ve mapped out all the spots to help you find your way to some good eatin’. For details on OC Beer week (which is wrapping up this Saturday), check out their OC Wine and Beer Week website.
