In a Facebook post dated April 12, Quality Seafood Redondo Beach announced that the 4th Annual Clam Chowder Cookoff would be postponed.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 14, the cook off was pushed back with no specific reasons cited. In an additional Facebook comment, the reps for Quality Seafood stated “the event wouldn’t have been the same as years past, so we had to postpone it.”
Established in 1953, Quality Seafood is one of the largest retail seafood markets on the West coast. In 2008, Brian Dragich created Quality Seafood’s Clam Chowder Cook-off to showcase Southern California fresh seafood restaurants, and raise funds for the cancer support community.
I guess we’ll have to stand by for some clam chowder this fall!
