The South Bay Greek Festival is an annual event that takes place at the St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. Unlike other ethnic festivals I’ve attended, the members of the parish actually prepare the food that they serve each year. These recipes are homemade, with some passed down through the generations.

Outside the church they have Greek items such as books, jewelry, crafts, spices, and cooking oil. Walking into the courtyard, an impressive display of grilled Greek items is available including kabob, gyros, calamari, loukoumades and Greek fries. A complete line of beverages including Greek beer and wine is available as well.

Inside of the church, you will be amazed to see the other dishes available: mousakka, pastacio, spanokopita, meatballs, green beans and kalamata olives. Believe it or not, the green beans are amazing!

They also have Greek desserts such as baklava and walking beyond the dessert area, a kids zone featuring carnival style games. The evening hours ramp up with live music and dancing.

Regular admission is $2.00 but you can save on the entrance fee by printing the coupon at this link. http://sbgreekfestival.com/uploads/2012GreekfestCoupon.pdf
