Its that time of year when everyone swears they’re Irish, all for the sake of swilling green beer and other similarly colored foods.
Here are a few ideas to get your St. Patty’s Day fix in and around the South Bay.
Hermosa Beach St. Patricks Day Parade, 2013
The St. Patrick’s Day fun kicks off in Hermosa on Saturday with a parade at Hermosa and Pier Aves. Follow this link for details.

Corned Beef and Cabbage at Dominique’s Kitchen
Clearly, Chef Dominique is getting into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day. Even though he’s French, Chef Dominique will be serving authentic corned beef and cabbage on Sunday.

SHOREbar’s Hot Patty Cocktail
I try to avoid the crappy green beer on St. Pats and look for naturally green cocktails to imbibe. Of the green cocktails I’ve come across, this one really piqued my interest.
The mixologists at SHOREbar in Santa Monica are mixing up a “Hot Patty”: basil, jalapeño, lime juice, and agave, muddled with Tequila. If you’re not wearing green, surely you’ll be safe sipping on one of these!

LA Marathon Route from Stadium to Shore
While its not quite a parade, there’s sure to be some interesting colors and costumes among the runners participating in the Los Angeles Marathon, taking place this Sunday.
They’ll be running from Dodgers Stadium to the beach through neighborhoods with plenty of great places to celebrate St. Patty’s Day including West Hollywood, Century City, and Santa Monica.
