Spanish wines are becoming increasingly popular. If you haven’t experienced them before, Tapas & Vino is having an educational event this Thursday evening, March 28, at 7:00pm.
Owner / Operator Andy Di Girgis will provide a 4 course wine and food pairing that evening.
Here’s the 411. My notes about the wine are in parenthesis:
First Course
Curried Shrimp served over Eggplant Puree
Served with Verdejo (white wine, generally crisp w/ fruit)
Second Course
Tortillas de Patas Egg Torte with Peppers, Onions and Potatoes
Served with Tinto Vino (Spanish red wine)
Third Course
Lamb Lollipops Serrano Mint Pesto & Puree Hominy
Served with Crianza (Must have spent at least 1 year in oak barrels)
Fourth Course
Spicy Lamb Meatballs Sauteed then Baked, tomato sauce, mint mojo and feta cheese.
Served with Reserva (Aged two years, at least one year spent in oak barrels)
