As a South Bay resident and food enthusiast, I’m happy when I see critically acclaimed chefs making their way from mid city LA to the South Bay.

The most recently example of this is Chef Cody Diegel. Formerly of The Larchmont in Hollywood and Caulfield’s in Beverly Hills, Cody has successfully opened some of LA’s top restaurants and is known for his creative reinterpretation of classic American fare.

On Friday, October 17, The Rockefeller will unveil Cody’s new menu. Here’s a sample of what’s new on the menu:

Red Snapper Tacos

Apple citrus straw, cilantro lime chili sauce

Burrata-Stuffed Peppers

Grilled baguette, micro basil, extra virgin olive oil

Manhattan Meatballs

Parmesan, basil, spicy pomodoro sauce

Charred Baby Octopus Salad

Citrus aioli, spicy marinara

Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes

English peas, pea tendrils, carrots, red pepper emulsion

Chocolate Pots de Crème

Dark chocolate custard, whipped cream, shaved chocolate

Since I haven’t been to The Rockefeller yet, I look forward to my first visit. I can already predict that my wife will order the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes.  It’s calling her name.
