If you’re a fan of Farm Stand, run (don’t walk!) to their downtown El Segundo restaurant ASAP.  After 10 years of serving “urban country food”, the restaurant is closing on March 25, 2016 for a reboot.

A press release shared last week described how Sylvie Gabriele and Chef Michael Fiorelli of Manhattan Beach’s Love & Salt will partner with Farm Stand chef Alex Mosavi to open a Mediterranean fast-casual concept somewhere in Los Angeles.  While they’ll be leaving South Bay area, the plan is to stick to the Farm Stand principles of “non-GMO, local, organic, and sustainable” cuisine.

In a Facebook post, the Farm Stand team shared their sentiments of closing the popular Main Street restaurant.

Yes, it is true that Farm Stand is going through a big change, and, yes, it is super exciting! Been in the making for a while and finally have the great team to realize it. We will be closing on March 25th to reformat the concept to expand into a Los Angeles location.

We want to thank our wonderful customers and the El Segundo community for their support and patronage. We are excited to bring our food and non-GMO to a new level. We hope you will stick with us on our journey.

The new concept (which is yet to be named) is slated to open sometime in 2017.

Until then, swing by the current El Segundo location Monday-Wednesday 11 AM to 9 PM, and Thursday-Friday 11 AM to 10 PM.

Thanks, Chef Mosavi, for all sharing your unique creations with us over  the last decade!  We’re looking forward to seeing what you and the new team cook up next.
