About a month ago, I wrote a post with links to charitable organizations that were working to help the people of Haiti.  My friend and fellow blogger Chrystal of The Duo Dishes commented to the effect of “We’ve got something cooking; hope you’ll help!”  I wasn’t surprised; Chrystal and Amir always have something cooking, literally if not figuratively.  I was eager, though, to find out what was in the works for another way to help ease the suffering of the Haitian people.

Donating is always a great way to help.  But I’ll be the first to admit, throwing money over the fence leaves me with a feeling of not really having done any “work” to help.  Once Chrystal revealed the master plan that she had brewing, I was excited for the chance to take action!  The plan is called “Stir It 28”.

On February 21st, in Atalanta, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, food bloggers and others in the food industry are teaming up to host events to raise money for Haitian relief.  Each city will host an event featuring the talents of professional chefs, well known restaurants, and skilled food bloggers.

We’re teaming up to do what we know and love — cook and serve — to encourage you to do something you know and love: eat and drink! 🙂

In each location, you’re invited to sample tasty treats and sip lucious libations, all donated by bloggers, chefs, and other sponsors.  There’s sure to be some off the wall creations going on!

The benefit of purchasing your ticket and attending — besides tasting all of the goodies — is that 100% of funds raised go directly to YELE & Share Our Strength.

So what’s next?  See the locations below and find one close to you; then buy a ticket!  To RVSP and get more details on each location, click the link to the venue.

To buy tickets, go to Bren’s FlaNboyant Eats or Coco Cooks and click the Stir It 28 Icon.

  3. Your marinaded grilled chicken was excellent! And definitely one of the less guilty tasty options that night!

Not that there was any guilt to begin with… calories at charity events TOTALLY don’t count 😉

Hope to eat/cook out with you again in the near future around LA!
