Looking Back at 2010, South Bay Foodies Style!
Happy New Year! With 2011 underway, I’m taking a moment to look back at some South Bay Foodies highlight from 2010.
Last year was jammed packed with so many great things to eat, photograph and write about. Here are just a few of those memorable moments.
Sampling Fall Dishes at Joe’s Restaurant on Abbot Kinney
Recently I had the opportunity to take a deep dive into the menu at Joe’s Restaurant. Holding down the North end of Venice’s trendy Abbot Kinney Blvd since 1991, Executive Chef and owner Joe Miller attributes his longevity to a mix of “formal French techniques with Asian and California-influenced esthetics”.

This Weekend! South Bay Holiday Events all Weekend Long
Wow! Only 14 more days until Christmas, kiddies. That means you don’t have much time left to figure out how to get scarce when the relatives come to visit.
Consider these events taking place around the South Bay to get you out of the house this weekend. Besides they’re way more fun than heading to Wal-Mart to return something (easily a two-hour trip) or trying to find a parking place at Manhattan Village.
Oh, and dress warmly; snow is in the forecast!
Food Truck Friday: Grabbing Chairman Bao by the Buns
LA isn’t the only town that has food trucks rolling out to feed hungry folks on the go. Recently, I had the opportunity to check out one of San Francisco’s premiere gourmet trucks, Chairman Bao.

Southern Breakfast Cravings Lead to Country Touch Cafe in Torrance
After years of driving past the unassuming store front on 190th Street in Torrance, I finally paid a visit to Country Touch Cafe in Torrance. Here’s my review of breakfast at this little slice of the South in Los Angeles.

Lunchtime Fusion at KAH Asian Restaurant and Lounge – Manhattan Beach
Just west of Sepulveda and Manhattan Beach boulevards is a small building that’s been the home of several restaurants over the years. The location at 1019 Manhattan Beach Blvd has seen a lot of turn over. Tapa Meze (a Mediterranean bistro that I never tried) and Chicago for Ribs (who had a wonderfully meat-focused happy […]
This Weekend! Savor the Flavor of Beer and Tequila in Hermosa
With temperatures on the rise, this weekend is the prefect time to relax with a cool beer and a taste of tequila. The ladies of Soroptimist International of Manhattan Beach, would be glad to serve some of both at their event this Saturday.
