Review of the 4th Annual LA Street Food Festival

This was the fourth year of the Annual LA Street Food Festival. It was held last Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Over 100 vendors and 5,000 attendees braved the heat to enjoy the festivities. Singha Beer handed out whimsical yellow visors which helped due to the bright sunshine.

Tonight! San Pedro’s Swingin’ Salute Welcomes the USS Iowa

One of the greatest battleships in history, the USS Iowa, has come to San Pedro. Tonight the streets of LA’s harbor town will be the setting for a grand welcoming of this new addition to our waterfront.  This event will feature live music from a swing band, food and beverages from local vendors, and the installation of Tivoli lights in downtown San Pedro.

South Bay Fireworks and Fourth of July Celebrations for Wednesday, July 4, 2012

This year, we’ll celebrate 236 years of independence on Wednesday, July 4. In typical fashion there will be plenty of smoky cookouts, fanfare worthy parades, and firework shows that will oooh and ahhh the crowds.

While there are still a few shows missing (City of Torrance, please come back!), thankfully a show has returned (Marina Del Rey).

Sneak Preview of Eats and Treats at the LA County Fair

To spare you from having to try every single thing on the menu at the fair, I visited to sample some of the foods that will be served over the next few weeks. For this Fair season, you’ll find food trucks, fried Kool Aid, and plenty of other things that are finger licking good. BYO Wet naps!

Fiesta Hermosa, Labor Day Edition

From Memorial Day in May, until Labor Day in September, we soak up the sun and laze away the long summer days in typical Southern California fashion. We kicked off the season with a bang so we might as well go out with one!  Thank goodness for Fiesta Hermosa.
